All right, let’s be honest: leopard print has been praised as `the must-have’ fashion piece for several seasons now. And there is a reason for this. It will never go out of style. Whether you decide to wear it as the main component of your outfit or just as an accessory, the pattern will elevate and add the little je ne sais quoi to any ensemble as long as you keep these top tips in mind.

Quality, quality, quality

Wearing a high quality leopard piece of clothing can be the difference between looking cheap or classy. Always invest in a good piece of animal print and pay special attention to the fit and the material of the clothing. This will make a huge difference to your look.

Wear it with parsimony

Worn sparingly, animal print is chic and trendy, but too much of it and you can easily look like you escaped from the zoo.

If you are brave enough to put focus on the print with a dress or trousers, keep the rest of your ensemble soft and subtle with neutral colours such as black, brown or white. The pattern will stand out and you are almost sure to avoid any fashion faux pas.

One print only

Leopard print is a very powerful pattern by itself so keep it simple. Don’t mix it with other prints (especially animal prints!) or your outfit will become a headache.

Keep accessories to a minimum

While accessories can be a great way to elevate a very neutral ensemble, when wearing animal print, make sure you keep accessories to a strict minimum so they don’t conflict with your pattern.

Be bold and experiment. Wisely.

Once you are more comfortable with the pattern, don’t be scared to experiment and create a look that reflects your personality. If you are a fan of bright colours and can’t live wihout them, allow yourself a little touch of colour in your accessories. Red, pink or purple usually work well witn animal print but again, pay attention to the colour tones and material of the items you choose so you don’t end up with a messy look. If you are not sure, keep it safe with neutral accessories or clothing.

And for those who like to keep it chic and classic, why not try a nice pair of animal print high heel shoe over your total black look for a sexy and classy look. Experiment and have fun!
