With the temperature cooling down and the weather getting darker, we may choose less colourful clothes and neutral tones tend to take over. For some of us, this will even affect our mood. Indeed, several studies show how colours can affect the way we feel about ourselves. So while we can’t change the lovely UK weather, I thought I’d put together a post on 5 colourful outfit ideas to help you feel great this autumn.
Go vintage
If you are into the 1970s’ colour blocking as much as I am, try pairing two bright colours that you would not typically put together such as red and yellow mustard. Wear them with block heels or ankle boots and finish the look with neutral accessories.
Bring on metallics
Metallics are still in the game this season, and while I love them dressed up for a night out, I find that they also look great with casual bottoms and black accessories for day time.
Make a statement with a colour block coat
The colourful coat is a quick and great way to brighten up a dark outfit when you are running out of time. Ground the look with black accessories and you are all good to go for a very colourful day.
Brighten your all black outfit
If the multi colour look is not really your thing, why not breaking up your all-black looker with a brighter outer layer that suits your skin tone.
Try a bit of green
Green may not be your usual choice during cooler months, but it has a wonderful way of making a classic jacket look far from basic. Finish off the look with heels for a very feminine and sexy vibe.
